Afro - Baroque

“Afro-Baroque” is a three-part body of work I created in 2024. This painting installation emerged from my interest in visually expressing the shifting momentum of code-switching. To embody this idea, I developed three double-sided kinetic paintings, each housed within its own ornate Afro-Baroque frame. Together, the works explore movement, duality, and the performative nature of identity, using motion and framing as metaphors for cultural adaptation and transformation.
